La Prof.ssa Roberta “Bobby” Glass, è la professoressa di biologia e successivamente di chimica del Liceo Kennedy. E’ una donna assolutamente fuori dall’ordinario, il prototipo di come non ci si immaginerebbe mai un professore: insulta i suoi alunni, gli affibbia nomignoli astrusi e soprattutto…ama dare a tutti delle belle F! I compiti che la prof.ssa assegna ai suoi ragazzi sono sempre insoliti e qualche volta ispiegabili, ma chissà perché riescono sempre ad essere utili ai suoi alunni. Come più volte ha dimostrato, la Glass nasconde la sua vera persona dietro una maschera di dittatrice: in realtà è una donna che è sempre stata sbeffeggiata e presa in giro da tutti, dai tempi del liceo. E’ una persona ferita e maltrattata, perfino dai suoi familiari (possiamo ricordare la sorella che la voleva uccidere o lo zio Tippy che la umiliò davanti a due sue alunne), ma che ,anche se non sembra, tiene molto ai suoi ragazzi: si è presa cura di Carmen quando la madre l’aveva cacciata da casa, ha aiutato Lily quando entrambe sono state aggredite fuori da un centro per omosessuali e ha perfino appoggiato Nicole nel momento in cui si trovava combattuta fra le sue due madri.
Le sue bizzarri teorie riescono sempre a spiegare in modo semplice e schietto come va la vita, come va il mondo…e nonostante il suo comportamento burbero e antipatico, tutti i ragazzi l'adorano e la stimano!
